Gathering seeds for sewing later.

Hello all,

Today we discussed the didactic nature of this novel. I am asking you to gather examples from your reading of pp.55-106 where Courtenay has his characters (Hoppie for example) utter 'wise words' or little conceptual nuggets that PK finds insightful/helpful/defining or 'seeds he socks away' for later.

• List the quote/lesson
• cite it
• write a sentence or two (only) about your understanding of its significance.
• Consider what theme/key idea seems to be at work here (race, friendship, power, landscape, other)

These observations will form the foundation of a larger work you will engage with later.
I will have a look at your work next class.
