We have begun the process of choosing novels for our independent novel study.
- Please ensure that no one has signed up for the same novel as you.
- Run your idea past me to ensure the book is sufficiently sophisticated in diction and/or themes for a grade 12 novel choice.
- Bring novel every day.
The first assignment is Due Oct. 3/13 ; it is your two chapter review.
Due: Oct. 1/13 In-class essay write.
- You will write on the prompt: 'Some of the best gifts are born out of adversity.'
- The essay must blend narrative form and one other form (comparison, persuasive, argumentative, descriptive, expository.)
- You will need to declare your second form intention at the top of your page.
- Form and diction ought to be governed by purpose/intention and audience.
- You may bring an outline (it must not have full sentences but merely be suggestive of your plan.)
- You have the entire class in which to write.
